Sydney, 10 July, 2015 – TTG has received both Innovation & Technology and Supplier Export Achievement awards at a major industry event presented by the Australasian Railway Association (ARA).

The Australasian Rail Industry Awards are the premier industry event recognising the outstanding achievements by organisations and individuals in the Australian and New Zealand rail industries, with over 400 people attending the event in Sydney’s CBD last night.

The event was hosted by TrackSAFE patron The Honourable Tim Fischer AC, formerly serving as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade.

ARA Acting Chief Operating Officer, Phil Allan, said he was incredibly encouraged by the amount of talent in rail recognised at the event, across a broad range of professions and sectors of the industry.

“I would like to congratulate all of the winners on their outstanding achievements and for contributing to the prosperity of the industry”, said Mr Allan.

“It is wonderful to see such impressive developments taking place in core areas of the industry such as Safety, Innovation & Technology, Workforce Diversity and Employee Engagement”.

“The winner of the Innovation and Technology category for example, TTG Transportation Technology, was acknowledged for their innovative product Energymiser®, an invention that reduces energy consumption, environmental emissions and maintenance costs, while improving on-time running and rail capacity”.

“It is encouraging to see an Australian supplier providing a world-leading solution to local and international operators and be acknowledged for this impressive work by their peers in the industry”, said Mr Allan.

The awards were accepted by Stan Ghys, a Business Development Manager for TTG.

“TTG Transportation Technology is pleased to win both the Innovation & Technology and Supplier Export Achievement awards.

This recognizes great Australian technology that is cutting energy consumption and emissions in rail operations, while improving on time running and network capacity.

The Energymiser Driver Advisory System is now 4th generation product deployed or being deployed on:

  • Over 2,000 diesel and electric trains globally, including high speed passenger, freight and heavy haul trains.
  • Over 30,000 kilometres of operating track.
  • Across 5 continents, including Australia, New Zealand, the UK, France, Africa, China and India.
  • I’m accepting this award on behalf of Dale Coleman. Our Managing Director is currently overseas, doing what it takes to be here tonight.

    The rail operations include:

  • High speed passenger trains across France, with SNCF’s TGV trains travelling at over 300 kilometres per hour.
  • Diesel and electric passenger trains across the UK, proving the solution in one of the world’s most complex and congested railway networks, as well as recent trials on passenger trains here in Australia.
  • Intermodal and general freight trains across the UK, New Zealand and Australia, as well as trials in China and India.
  • Iron ore trains in Africa, with the system rolled out in some of the heaviest and longest trains in the world.
  • The technology is fully supported by TTG’s local and overseas offices, as specialists for improving the efficiency of rail operations.

We thank the University Of South Australia, who are our research partners. Tonight’s awards are a result of over 20 years’ collaboration and great team work.

We also thank the ARA and everyone here tonight, for giving us the opportunity to communicate what’s possible for your rail operations”, said Mr Ghys.
